 What is the NEW AGE movement?

It is nothing NEW Been around since the Garden of Eden.

It is a mind /thought pattern that the devil has for us to follow.

Its goal is for us to think in the same flawed way  the devil did.

It is subtle and networked into all major influential thought systems, religions and political fields.

It is NOT a religion

It has NO Bible or leader

It is NOT political

The New Age Movement is in a class by itself.

• It has no holy text.
• It has no central organization.
• It has no membership.
• It has no formal clergy.
• It has no geographic center.
• It has no dogma.
• It has no creed.

The New Age is in fact a free-flowing way of thinking that often is described as being liberating.

It presents itself as a means to enlighten or to progress humanity.

It infiltrates religion, science, psychology, culture, politics, education, sexuality and every aspect of society.

Its core agenda can be seen in Scripture, right from the beginning.

When the serpent approached Eve, he influenced her to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

She presumed he was acting in her best interests.

She presumed that gaining knowledge would enlighten her.

She presumed she could make spiritual decisions for herself.

She presumed God doesn’t have all the answers.

The Serpent appealed to her MIND, her SENSES, her THOUGHTS, and her SPIRITUALITY.

He didn’t force her or take charge of her, he simply….

PUT HER IN CHARGE!!!

SHE ATE AND THEN SHE DIED!

The New Age Movement is a free thinking plan from SATAN to PUT YOU IN CHARGE! It will enlighten you, liberate you and it brings you into a politically correct and inclusive life-style which you believe is aimed at bettering the condition of all.

It will encourage YOU to make spiritual decisions for yourself. You decide WHO and WHAT you want God to be.

It uses words that sound good and helpful.

You will know some of these words…

Democratic – Democracy may not be a bad thing, but just because a system is democratic, it is not necessarily Christian.  Within Christianity, democracy is not found.  Jesus never took a vote to see if He should go to the cross… God is a monarch and even Jesus submits to the Father’s will (Luke 22:42).  Even within the Trinity, there is no democracy.

[Luk 22:42  “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”]

 

 

Holistic Health – Is Alternative Medicine which treats the whole person; Body, Mind, Emotions and Spirit.  It uses everything from herbal remedies, spirituality, pressure points and subconscious states to address the person holistically.                                                 (John 17:3 , Isa 53:5)  

[Joh 17:3  And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. – Nothing can heal or give eternal life to the spirit except God]

[Isa 53:5  And by His stripes we are healed. ]

Greater Being – a greater being / force exists that is beyond us.  The greater being is not part of us and is impersonal and beyond relationship.  Our connection to it is unclear and our understanding of it is limited.                                                                                                      (John 17:26 , John 14:9 , John 3:16)

[Joh 17:26  And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”]

[Joh 14:9  Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?]

[Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ]

Energy – Energy is the healing force or power that flows through the universe which energies all things.  It holds all things in equilibrium and sustains all life (life force).    (Col 1:17)

 [Col 1:17  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. ]

 

Enlightenment – A place of higher existence or understanding – can be experienced while alive or after death.  When enlightenment is reached, all the negative characteristics (sin) fall always and the person is in harmony with others and the environment.            (Gen 6:5 , John 15:5 ,  John 14:16)

 [Gen 6:5  The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. ]

 [Joh 15:5  … apart from me you can do nothing.]

[1Jn 1:7  But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. ]

 

Relativism –       The truth is what is true for you. (there is no absolute  truth)      (John 8:32 ; 14:6)

 [Joh 8:32  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” ]

[Joh 14:6  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.]

Protagoras: Truth is relative. It is only a matter of opinion.

Socrates:             You mean that truth is mere subjective opinion?

Protagoras: Exactly. What is true for you is true for you, and what is true for me, is true for me. Truth is subjective.

Socrates:             Do you really mean that? That my opinion is true by virtue of its being my opinion?

Protagoras: Indeed I do.

Socrates:             My opinion is: Truth is absolute, not opinion, and that you, Mr. Protagoras, are absolutely in error. Since this is my opinion, then you must grant that it is true according to your philosophy.

Protagoras: You are quite correct, Socrates.

The purpose of the New Age Movement

To make us believe that we are gods

Isa 14:13  “You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit…””

To remove the personal relationship with Jesus Christ – we can save ourselves!

Acts 4:12  “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

To remove the knowledge of sin and the consequences thereof

Rom 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death.”

To make us believe that we can obtain any knowledge, healing or goodness on our own.  We can restore our world to perfection, our soul to completeness and our bodies to immortality – we can be gods.   John 15:5  “… apart from me you can do nothing.”

To increase the acceptance of the anti-Christ(s)……

The anti-Christ is key in leading the world into a state of complete rebellion to God – Armageddon.

The anti-Christ is key in deceiving humanity to set up structures and governments that reject and oppose Christianity.

The anti-Christ is key in leading the world to spiritual death.

THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT AND THE ANTI-CHRIST

New Age thinking paves a way for the anti-Christ

The anti-Christ is more than one person – it is a way of thinking / living

The anti-Christ is not only political – it is integrated into all aspects of human life

The anti-Christ is not a stranger – it is already in our school / religion / politics / healing / media /social norms / legal system / morality / science / customs

The anti-Christ (New Age) thinking will be embraced and enhanced by main-line Christianity.

THE NEW AGE MOVMENT has many spokes persons, some of which don’t even have the slightest clue that they are being led by the Devil…..

I have chosen her for the following reasons…

and not because I believe that she is THEE anti-Christ.

… she is the clearest example .

… her theology is clearly documented.

… she is influential and needs to be exposed.

Oprah Winfrey has started her own CHURCH…which met in 2008

First service was 300 000 , now there is over 20 million

Calls it a mass-trans and uses meditation instead of prayer

Oprah has started a church … MASS TRANS…meditation

My mind is part of God..My salvation comes from me..etc

…there are many paths to what you call god

…God is jealous of me?   [God is not jealous of you… He is jealous FOR you]

[Deu 4:24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.]

…open my mind     [Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,]

…god is in all things   [2Co 5:19 … God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself,]

AND

[Joh 14:20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.]

…god is a feeling experience and not a believing experience

[Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.]

…if God for you is still about a belief then it is not truly God

The New Age Movement would like to convince you that…

1 . Evil and good flow from and into each other.

There is good in evil and evil in good

From good can come evil and from evil can come good

Healing or salvation is achieved when the “balance” or equilibrium is restored

2. You can control the flow of positive and negative energy

You can “control” both positive and negative energy

You can channel or produce positive and negative energy

You should “tap into” the energy around you

The New Age Movement would like to convince you that…

3 . Everything has both good and evil.

Nothing is purely good or purely evil.

God can be bad and evil can do good (White magic-Harry Potter)

[1Jn 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

[2Co 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.]

4. Everything  is god and god is in everything

You are god and god is in everything that exists.

[2Co 5:19 … God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself,]

[Joh 14:20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.]

There are many symbols used in new age…  The one that depicts this most is the Yin-Yang symbol – look at the symbol at the top of the blog. Note how the Black and white flow into each other, how the are equal in size and within each colour there is the other – evil in good and good in evil.  Note that the symbol shows no personal relational qualities nor atoning qualities.

Other disciplines and practices that are influenced strongly by new age…  The all will speak of balancing the Good and bad – restoring equilibrium, becoming in touch with the energy around you.  Channeling positive and negative energy.  They might include some form of meditation which enhances your state of being to a higher level

Some examples of these are New Age means … Acupuncture / Aroma therapy / Martial Arts / Yoga / Reflexology /  Astrology / Divination / Alternative medicine / Reiki

There are many other practices that teach similar concepts…

In closing…

The word of God teaches that YOU

… have fallen and marked with sin

Rom 3:23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1Jn 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

… that you need to be saved and cannot do it on your own

Isa 64:5  …And we need to be saved.

Isa 64:6  But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;

… that there is only one means to be saved

Acts 4:12  Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

… there is only one God

Eph 4:5  one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

Isa 45:21  …there is no other God besides Me,

… it is only by Jesus Christ that you can be saved

What according to Christianity, are the needs of the spirit and how, according to

Christianity, are those needs met?

Mankind’s most basic need is to know and relate to God. This is eternal life. (John 17:3)

Because of sin mankind is estranged from God. (Isaiah 59:2)

The just punishment for our sins is an eternal banishment from God in hell. (Luke 12:4-5; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 21:15)

The only way for us to avoid this punishment is for Jesus to take our punishment for us and for us to become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13)

This happens when we believe the gospel, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. (John 20:30-31; Romans 4:3-8).

If we trust God to save us on the basis of what Jesus did for us, then God will save us. (John 6:37; Acts 16:30-31)

Being saved means that we have a relationship with God in this life and an eternal relationship with God in the next life in heaven. (John 14:1-6; 1 Peter 1:3-4)
